These short treks are for busy people who want to have a Himalayan hiking experience during their short holiday or those who want to enjoy beautiful mountain sceneries in a leisurely walk with their friends or families. Some of these treks seem similar but the approach routes are different, we know many different view points and non touristy routes around Pokhara to take you to. These treks are short but will offer you few days close to nature and authentic trekking experience.

Nepal Short Treks - Popular Itineraries
1. Chisapani Hiking
Season : All the year round
Duration: 02 or 03 days
Max. Elevation : 2165m 
Mountain view : Gaurishankar, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa ranges including a distant view of Mt Everest 
Highlights: Superb mountain view, forests and tranquil nature, ethnic Tamang villages and Buddhist culture

This trek starts from the north eastern outskirt of Kathmandu . The first stretch of the trek is uphill walk through the rhododendron forest of the Shivapuri national park. After 4-5 hrs of walk we reach the spectacular mountain view point of Chisapani from where we can have close view of a long range of Eastern Himalayas from Langtang to Gaurishankar Ranges .
On the second day we walk past some ethnic villages and mostly through a dense and beautiful forest, listening the birds chirping and enjoying the view of the Himalayas . In the winter months we sometimes even meet wild fowls and sometimes even deers .
2.Dhampus Trek
Duration: 02 or 03 days
Altitude : 1650 m/5413 ft
Trekking season : throughout the year
Highlights: Superb views of the Annapurna ranges including the Dhaulagiri, Fishtail etc mountains, beautiful sunset and sunrise on the Himalayas , countryside experience.


This two day hike to the Dhampus hill is short but quite a rewarding trek. Walking through sparse villages, farm terraces and forests we reach to the Dhampus hill after few hours of walk from Pokhara. A close face to face view of a long range of Annapurna and other mountains greets us on reaching Dhampus. We enjoy the amazing sunsets on the Himalayas in the evening and sunrise next morning, a scenery that you will treasure for long. Next day we walk back down hill through equally scenic route and catch a vehicle for Pokhara.
Besides the breathtaking mountain views, Dhampus will also offer you an opportunity to experience the peace and beauty of Nepalese countryside , watch the daily lives of the villagers , see them work on the farms and interact with local people .
3.Ghandruk Cultural Trek
Trek days : 3 days
Max altitude : 2000m
Best season : Sept to June , trekable all through the year


This is an ideal trek for those who wish to do a three day trek in Nepal in a comfortable trail and enjoy the finest mountain sceneries .The trek starts after one hour of drive from Pokhara and ascends through the hill villages after crossing the suspension bridge at Modi Khola river. We then climb past the river valleys and farm terraces to the ethnic Ghrung village of Ghandruk . The mountain views from Ghandruk is superb. In the next two days we pass through excellent view points at Landruk and Pothana and Deurali, walk through lovely forests and visit some picturesque hill villages and finally end the trek at Phedi.
The trek is easy and can be done all through the year even in summer. Average walking is 4 to 6 hours, the highest point is only 2000 m and there is no risk of altitude sickness.

4. Ghorepani Poon Hill TrekGhorepani Trek 
days : 4 days or 5 days
Max altitude : 2855 m
Trekking style :Lodge to lodge
Best Seasons: All through Oct - June

This trek starts from Pokhara and if you want to see some of Nepal’s big peaks up close it’s the best option for a short trek. The view from Poon Hill (3210m/10531ft) takes in Annapurna South, Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri. The first few days the trail makes a steady climb between the small Sherpa villages. The second night can be spent in Tadapani which offers great views of Annapurna II, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machapuchare which is also known as “Fish Tail.” If you bring some swimwear you can make the short hike down to the river to enjoy the hot springs in Tadapani. It’s another days climb from Tadapani to Ghorepani from where the following morning you hike to Poon Hill to catch the sunrise on the Himalayas. After taking in the views it’s time to head back to Ghorepani and start the return trek.

5. Everest Mini Trek 
Trek days: 5 days
Total tour: 8 days
Trek grade: moderate
Max altitude: 3440m
Trekking style: Lodge to lodge

If you wish to see Everest from near but do not have time to go all the way to Everest base camp or do not want to climb high, this is the trek for you.

This itinerary is carefully designed to take you to the finest view points of Everest region that offer you a face to face breathtaking view of Everest , Amadablum, Lhotse, Nuptse and other mountains. Also you will get a rare opportunity to explore big Sherpa village and have a close look at their fascinating Buddhist culture.

Our trek starts with an exciting 45 minute mountain flight to Lukla airstrip.From lukla we walk along the Dudh koshi river and reach the Sherpa capital of Namche bazzar on the second day. Namche is an active and lively town in Everest region. The ridge above Namche offers extraordinary view of Everest and other mountans of Khumbu.

Next mornig we visit Syangboche. Syangboche offers breathtaking close view of Everest and the entire range, an extraordinarily beautiful and majestic mountain scenery that you will treasure for life.. We then vist the the biggest village of the Sherpas- the Khumjung village.We exlore the village, visit the exotic monasteries , the Hillary school and finally return to Namche for overnight stay. We return to Lukla next day and fly back to Kathmandu early morning.
